Galveston & Seabrook Texas

I'm pretty much ready for summer to take a hike. Kinda over it.
HOWEVER, I forgot how much I love Cache Valley Summa's! It's been a while since I've been home this early & I suppose the magic of summer nights slipped my mind.
London Rose & I went on a little run to the cemetery tonight @8 & it was bloody brilliant.
I could smell BBQ's cooking, the wind was blowing in my hair, & it was such a perfect temperature.
Would it be too much to ask to have all day every summer to feel like tonight?

Anyway, back to catching up on Texas blogging...
Fathers Day started out quite brilliant indeed.  Blake woke up to London running in our room holding his present & yelling, "Happy Muvers day, dad!" After an exceptional home cooked breakfast, we packed out beach bags & headed to Galveston for the day.  As I've mentioned before, the southern heat doesn't kid around...we were wet, sticky, & HOT 1 second after leaving our car.  Galveston pier is a total tourist trap....but, thankfully, I'm kinda into that thing...just kinda though.  Overpriced food, rides, & even walking (yes, you even had to pay to walk on the pier) had Blake rolling his eyes & London in a sour mood.  We probably didn't help London's sour mood by forcing her to ride the carousel.  She hates rides, no....more like is deathly terrified of rides (she won't even ride the quarter rides at the mall).  So, the only solution to this mama & daddy's adventurous hearts was to make her ride it.  I know, I know, we are mean..but, it's a tough battle...Do we make her ride the ride & perhaps overcome her fear? or scar her forever of rides?...or, just let her be?  She cried almost the entire time, & i'll admit, I did feel a bit guilty for forcing her to ride it....but after, she said she liked it, but didn't want to ride it again.

We were just miserable with heat, so, we decided to drive to Seabrook & let London take a nap in the air conditioned car on the way.  We went to the boardwalk in Seabrook & it was kinda the same tourist trap pier as Galveston...but less expensive & intense.  We didn't last long before we were dying for a good meal & air conditioning.  We found the yummiest little place called Outriggers.  Outriggers floated on the water & hands down had the best crab Blake & I had ever eaten.  Like ever.
With full bellies, & temperatures dropping, we looked up a beach & headed that way.
I will never forget our beach day. London & Blake have the sweetest & most fun relationship.  My mind was just continuously taking snap shots.  We played in the ocean, drank lots of salt water, buried London, found seashells, built sandcastles, got sand pedicures, ran along the beach, & shared lots of loves, hugs, & kisses.  While we were out in the water, London kept saying, "Oh my dosh!" every time a wave would come.  It was so dang cute.  Needless to say, that beach made for a perfect memory.  A memory I will NEVER forget.
It also made it to my favorite day of the entire Texas summer.
