This is Halloween

Halloween is my favorite Holiday. I used to say Christmas was my favorite holiday...but, the actual Christmas day is kinda sad for me...Holidays are over & nothing to look forward to.  Halloween however, is a fun filled day that leaves the soul fulfilled & the heart longing for the upcoming holidays.  I've ALWAYS loved this time of year.  Dressing up as someone, eating candy, getting spooked, all the fun fall activities, & hanging with friends & family.  This Halloween shaped up to be my MOST FAVORITE yet.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rewind 13 years.
I was in 8th grade.
My family & I were in Missouri & ate at this aaaaaaaamazing place that had the most amazing apple fritters ever.  We still talk about those fritters.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sadly, I never ate another apple fritter...until about 4 weeks ago when I decided to give them a try.  We fried them up, & I instantly fell in love all over again.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We took it easy Halloween morning.
Slept in, ate some yummy breakfast, grinded some apples, & listened to some spooky tunes.
Just before naptime, we made it over to Lee's for some fun trick or treating & a spook alley.
With the girls sawing logs, I got to work making homemade rootbeer, wipping up a HUGE batch of apple fritter dough, got the garage ready for some serious partying, & putting everything just so for All Hallows Eve.
Amy & Dave came by after work to spend the evening with us.
We quickly ate some Wendy's & set about getting the girls ready for trick or treating.
With this being London's first time trick or treating, we wanted to get a good head start while there was still light.  She may have cried a few times out of terror, but, once she figured out everyone was giving candy, she soon let loose & wanted to go to every house.
Miss Penny was just as happy as ever being pushed around in the stroller by Dave.
After London got her haul in candy, we went back to our place.
We opened the garage & driveway, turned on some spooky tunes, put a fire in our driveway with chairs surrounding it, & got the apple fritters in the deep fryers.
We invited a bunch of friends & family over + every trick or treater was welcome for some hot apple fritters & some cold homemade root beer.
LOTS of people stopped by & made the night a huge success & SO very fun.
Making fritters & root beer for the trick or treaters will definitely be an Allen Halloween tradition.
After trick or treating died down around 9, we went inside & watched Dark Shadows with Steve & Heidi, & Amy & David.  It was the perfect ending to a perfect day.
Lots of laughs, spooks, & adventure was had.
Already looking forward to next Halloween.
