"Everybody wants happiness, nobody wants pain, but, you can't have a rainbow without a little rain."
Such a perfect quote to describe this particular spring time in our lives.
Isn't rain so amazing? The renewing, the smell, the beauty?
I have always been a rain girl. Give me a good book, some comfy clothes, + a rainy day and I'm content. Weather has a huge affect on me & I love the way rain makes me think. I find beauty in my thoughts, and if I watch the rain long enough, I find new perspective in all areas of struggling.
As a young girl, you would find me outside in a long dress with my hair down just running through the rain. I loved the way it felt on my skin, my hair, my lungs, my soul.
I guess as I've gotten older, i've become more stuffy because you won't often find me in a long dress with my hair down running in the rain. Don't you wish things were sometimes just as simple and easy as when you were a kid? Like dropping everything else to go feel the rain on your face? How come adult life is so hard to drop whatever to feel the sunshine on your face or the taste of rain?
One spring afternoon, it started raining. I ran upstairs, put on a long dress + let my hair loose. I got London is a dress, took off Penny's helmet, ran downstairs to tell Blake to quickly get changed because we were going to play in the rain. My heart quickly filled with childhood joy as I ran free + played with my girls in the rain. I couldn't help but get teary eyed as I watched Penny experience rain on her head for the first time or as I heard the happy giggles coming from London.
An afternoon I will always cherish.
