Rōz in our lives

Rōz has been such a fun endeavor in my life.
F I R S T + foremost, it is an absolute blast to do it with one of my very best friends, Ashley.
We work well together, we are on the same page 99% of the time & our personalities just work to do this together.  I honestly do not think I could do something like this with anyone else but her.

Because being a good mommy is my #1 priority, it has been a bit tricky to figure out a good schedule for us that would not interfere with our motherhood responsibilities.  With that being said though, I do think it's important for my kids to see me work + do things that are important to me so that they can see my work ethic + the deep passion that resides in me to create.  I hope to pass both of these qualities to my girls.  Ash + I usually pick a night out of the week after the kids have gone to bed to complete our weeks orders...if we don't get them all done that night, we usually just split them up & then I'll finish up my portion during nap time the next day (yes, london still naps.  I think she will need naps longer than Penny).

Ashley took a maternity leave for 6 weeks & so I had to get creative of when/how I worked on the orders.  It's a LOT of work doing it on your own & I knew that some of the time, I would need to work on them while my kids were awake.  So, twice a week in the mornings, I would set up my cutting table in London's room & we would turn on princess music & sing.  I would cut fabric + watch the girls play & talk with them the entire time while I was cutting.  After cutting, Penny would continue playing & London would help me with the pinning.  When I explained to her that I owned a shop & made baby bonnets for customers, she took every opportunity to help me with my shop.  She thought it was the coolest thing ever.  Her job? Handing me pins to pin, & then she would take all the pins out of the fabric after I'd sewn it & put them back on the pin cushion.  She would ask about each customers name, where they were from, & if they were nice.  haha.  I would try to do as much as I could during nap + bedtime....but, it ended up working out fine & was a huge bonding experience as I got to explain my passion for creating to London & she got to help me in my shop.  We took many book breaks with Penny too!
