I'm pretty sure I have the best family around.
Instead of our usual SLC christmas weekend.....
This year, we decided to have a christmas weekend at my parents instead.
How could we not? With a brand new house & all.
Best. Decision. Ever.
The first night was spent watching the polar express & playing games.
With 9 other siblings + their spouses + their kids= an amazingly full house.
Nighttime was a bit crazy.
Blankets & pillows & bodies were found in the most random of places.
Even though not much sleep happened, it was a blast for everyone to sleep together.
London decided that on day 2, she wanted to walk. Not crawl.
So, she went about practicing all day long.
I'm pretty sure she loved all the attention.
That girl is an attention seeker i tell ya.
More games, chit-chatting, and a big surprise awaited us.
I might have been in on the big surprise. It was still a surprise to see how happy everyone was.
Amy, dad, david, and I set about decorating the polar Express.
As we impatiently waited for dusk to appear....
We wrote letters to Santa.
Legend has it, that if you write a letter to Santa & then burn it,
the ashes from your letter will reach the North Pole & Santa will receive it.
But, the burning had to wait.
Everyone felt the magic of Christmas in the air as each of us were handed a round trip ticket for the POLAR EXPRESS.
It happened. The magic of Christmas was all around us.
As the Polar Express pulled in front to pick us all up, excitement was in the air.
Hot chocolate, a fire, family, love, christmas carols, burning letters to Santa, London, Blake....
The Christmas spirit settled & soaked into our hearts.
I will never forget this.
Perfect moment frozen in my mind.
When we arrived back to Santa's workshop,
gingerbread houses were waiting for us to put together.
Blake & I pulled our yearly tradition of making a single wide trailer.
I'm pretty sure we should have won.
Sugar cookie decorating + eating, christmas movies, christmas
music, piano practicing, games, family, food, love, not enough sleep,
& perfection filled the rest of the night & the next day.
I'm pretty sure this was the best weekend this year.
Amazing.
Already missing it.
Merry Christmas.
Bug, this is awesome, I love it!!
