Louisiana!
Or should I say, destination perfection.
I have fallen.
I have fallen madly deeply in love.
If there ever was a place made just for me,
it would be Louisiana.
I seriously cannot get enough.
With New Orleans, some wicked awesome cemetaries,
all the seafood you could possibly imagine,
gumbo, blues/jazz music blaring throughout the streets,
southern hospitality, cutest southern/plantation homes that only exist in your dreams,
green beauty all around,
& an awesome retro vintage vibe.
Can you see why?
Can you see why this place is oh so perfect for me?
This place is inching to the top of my list of favorite destinations in the US.
New York & this place are in the close runnings for #1.
Perhaps, I shall retire here?
And become a plantation owner/southern belle?
Fitting, very fitting.
Our first stop was bourbon street
& the French Quarters.
French Quarters are awesome.
Bourbon street...not so much.
It's fun to go to bourbon street once...
& snag a few pictures...
But, once you walk down one block,
you've seen the whole street.
Bar after strip club after bar after strip club after bar after strip club..
You get the jist.
However, the entertainment on Bourbon street is to die for.
Lots of street entertainers
+ entertainers that to a mormon....
well, wow!
At one point, there was this man just sitting in the middle of the road with a voodoo doll.
We passed him (London in her stroller),
& he lunged drunkingly toward London.
So weird.
So creepy.
Perhaps, it's the weird & creepy that entices me.
Gumbo is probably my new fave food.
Beautiful art work EVERYWHERE.
I knew that visiting a cemetary was in my near future.
I chose the Metairie Cemetary to go to first.
As many of you know,
I LOVE cemetaries.
Like I love them so much,
that I will usually change my running routes to run through them.
This cemetary would be no exception with it's stunning works of art,
other than it's the THIRD most haunted cemetary in the US.
C c c c c creepy.
It's amazing how something SO BEAUTIFUL could also be so terrifying.
Hauntingly beautiful, I tell ya.
Oh, & miss London thought she was soooo cool here.
She wanted to sit on every step that led into the mausoleum's.
Oh Louisiana,
how I love you.
More Louisiana adventures coming to you shortly..
Inlcuding my adventures while my family was here.
Stay tuned.
