Wowzers

35 days spent in a hotel.
1 night spent in Dumas, Texas.
21 days spent living in a La Quinta in San Angelo, Texas.
7 days spent living in Southern Inn & Suites in Pearsall, Texas.
Going on 6 nights at Comfort Suites in Pearland, Texas.
35 nights of sleeping in the same room as London.
35 days of having London nap in the same room.
35 days of having NO kitchen....
That also means, 35 days of creative cooking/eating out.
Thank goodness some of the hotels we have been in have had a grill out by the pool...
BBQing almost on the daily.
35 days of trying to entertain a toddler & myself inside a hotel room.
......& we are still in hotels.
Editing, Downton Abbey, Doctor Who, & reading the hobbit have kept me sane in the hotel.
London has had some issues with adjusting...but, who can blame her.
It's nuts... But, I know this crazy time in our lives will actually help her
learn how to deal with change more easily.
One night, London decided it would be an awesome idea to take my phone swimming in the toilet.
Not a good idea little lady.
Needless to say, I was without a phone for a week.
Feeling cool calling people on my hotel phone.
14 hours of drive time.
We FINALLY flipped London's carseat forward.
Life saver I tell ya.  She has been such a trooper.
6 hours of flight time.
Will we ever make it to Louisiana?
Please oh please can we go soon?
I'm crossing all of my crossies as tightly as possible.
Due to some licensing issues that Louisiana is requiring,
we have had a CRAZY summer so far...
to say the least.
You can pretty much call us Texas gypsies.
I've debated on flying back home until we are in a stable place with an apartment...
But, at the end of the day,
I couldn't keep London away from her daddy,
& let's face it, I'm a blubbering mess without Blake.
He puts the cool in my step,
& he's pretty much knarley.
Plus, he's such a hard worker.
He seems to be made just for me.
Cheesy, yes. Sorry.
Despite living in a hotel for a million years,
we/I have had some amazing experiences
& made some incredible new friends...
Friends that I know I will cherish for my whole life.
Vivint wives have a special bond.
We all understand each other,
we all live within steps of each other,
we hang out on the daily,
& we get to experience new & exciting things with each other.
We become family.
I have no doubt in my mind these girls will be my life long friends.
This year, we have 9 wives out +4 kids.
So, it's been fun to have so many wives & kids this year.
We all keep each other mentally stable.
Jicama & prickly pears have made their way into my diet...
I'm a sucker when it comes to trying new fruits & veggies...
I can't resist & now I'm eating both regularly.
Yes, prickly pears like on Jungle Book.
I LOVE experiencing new cultures & exploring new things...
I have definitely made it a priority while in the hotels.
Here is a picture/list of what we have been up to so far this summer.
  • International waterlily gardens in San Angelo, Texas. Oh, & I have been dabbling into nature photography.  So, bear with me when you see more nature photos than normal.

  • Lake Nasworthy in San Angelo, Texas.
  • They had some amazing cactus fields in San Angelo, Texas.. especially right where the church was.  So, one day after church, I grabbed London & snapped a few.
  •  Flower fields in San Angelo, Texas.
  •  Snow cones, bumps, & bruises almost on the daily.
  •  Vivint does a wives contest every month.  Last month was to do a themed photoshoot.  Our theme was the traveling wives.  We won! Yippee.
  •  Splash Pad & lots of watermelon eating in San Angelo, Texas.
  •  Duck feeding... The ducks in Utah need to teach the ducks in Texas that bread is good.
  •  Hiking some caverns in San Antonio Texas.
  •  The famous river walk in San Antonio, Texas.
  •  Playing with daddio before we dropped him off to the airport to go to ALASKA. Jealous.
  •  Children's museum in Houston, Texas.
  •  Houston Zoo.  This is the day that I officially joined the babies on a leash club.

Even though living in a hotel at the moment doesn't seem to glamorous,
I know I will look back on this summer & smile...
& miss it...
I always do.
Here's to more adventures
& hoping that Louisiana is in my near future.
