Pumpkin Patch + thieves

By the time we left this pumpkin patch, we felt like full out criminals.
Let me back up about 15 minutes prior....
We usually go out to a pumpkin patch in Richmond during October, but, one of my friends told me that Mt. Naomi farms had a patch this year...which is just in Hyde Park.  So, one morning, we got ready, and set off to get our Halloween Pumpkins.  As we were driving into the patch, we couldn't see the hours, just some hayride hours & so we assumed it was a pick & pay type of patch like the one in Richmond.  Anyway, we also couldn't find a place to view pumpkin prices or a drop box for money or anything.  So, we snapped some pics (a pumpkin patch tradition) and then decided that we would put the money on the owners doorstep.  So, we picked four of our favorite pumpkins & just as we were loading them up in our car, the owner comes barreling up the dirt road.  "Um, can I help you, " she said.  We quickly explained that we were confused how this all worked & that we didn't know how to pay & that we were planning on leaving some money on her door step.  VERY RUDELY, she replied, "Well, I could call the cops on you.  It's not open right now.  How am I supposed to know if you are stealing my pumpkins.  The hours are the hayride hours & you get a hayride after you get a pumpkin.  It's a package deal & I just cannot give you a hayride right now."  Blake let her know that we didn't need a hayride & just wanted to pay for the pumpkins.  We ended up paying a VERY unhappy owner.  We basically felt like we should be locked up.  Full out criminals, I tell ya.  At least next year we will know that it's NOT pick & pay.  Woof.  We laugh about it now, but, I felt really really bad about it right after.

At least we got some cute pictures + pumpkins before they hauled us off to jail. hehe.
