Allen Extravaganza

A favorite day of mine in December.
ALLEN EXTRAVAGANZA.
Need I say more?
Since it is so hard to actually get everyone together on Christmas or Christmas Eve, we decided a couple years ago to set Dec. 26th aside for the Allen extravaganza.  We spend the entire day together starting with breakfast.  We did breakfast in Cove this year & boiled eggs in zip lock bags to make omelets.  It was a fun & new way to do omelets.  We then hit the sledding hill.  A darling Penny snow bunny, a fearless London + Hunter, 3 broken sleds, big laughs, & many red frozen noses later, we called it quits.

GAMES occupied most of our time, but, we also had the kids do the nativity.  London took her role as Mary to extreme seriousness & even kept calling Hunter, Joseph.  She was serene with Baby Jesus  & it brought tears to my eyes.  Penny was the trickster Angel....pulling her halo off at every chance + sneaking in the cradle with baby Jesus gave us all some good laughs.  We had dinner & then put all the kids to bed.  All the adults played games until all hours of the night.  I absolutely adore hanging out with the Allen's.  We tease, we laugh, we all get along.  I adore Blake's sisters & always cherish the time that we all get to be together because it doesn't happen nearly enough.  Allen Extravaganza will always be one of my favorite holidays.
