Penny is ONE + a lawn party

The first year of Penny's life was filled with a range of emotions for me.  From pure happiness to intense worry to lots of laughter to severely sleep deprived crankiness to a love that I'd never thought possible.  The first birthday is a HUGE deal to me bc that means we made it through the first year.  I know Penny will never remember her first birthday or her first birthday party....but, one day she will look back at these pictures & see how many people love her & were there to celebrate her life.  Plus, the first birthday is kinda a party for Blake & I.  It was a chance to get all the people we love at our house & celebrate our littlest love.  I LOVE birthday mornings. I try to make their birthday morning really special.  It's tradition to wake our little's up with a birthday song, a birthday balloon, & a birthday present while they are still in bed.  Penny was just utterly confused, but, loved all the ruckus & attention.  Blake never fails to make the perfectly shaped number pancakes for each birthday & his little 1 was just adorable for our Penny Pie.  I am so in love with our little girl & the way she has blessed our home is beyond words.  She has truly brought so much light into our home.  Her adorable dimpled smile charms all & her bright eyes light up every room.   We love her so much it hurts.

Blake & I, along with everyone that we love, celebrated our little one with giant lawn games, garden snacks, a special Penny movie, presents, & a cake smash.  Never have I seen a little one dive into a cake quite like Penny.  It was adorable & her little toes lacked no evidence.
