The forest by Seward Highway caught on fire + so Sage & I loaded up our girls to go check it out. Although the whole thing was entirely sad, it was interesting to see the workings of humans coming together to put it out. We were able to watch them dunk their buckets into the ocean & then spill it over the fire. Smoke was everywhere + it cast such a gloomy ambiance. Makes me sad though that now that forest right there has years + years of regrowing.
On our way back we stopped at potters marsh. Potters marsh is always a good time & this time we were able to see all the salmon waiting in the creek inlet to die. I cannot stress again how intriguing the life cycle of a salmon is. Their instinct is beyond awesome! London wanted to push Penny around in the stroller + Penny thought it was pretty alright.
