Talkeetna + Denali

Talkeetna is quaint little town where the hikers from Mount Denali rest before/after climbing the biggest mountain in the USA.  The town was like something from a movie.  Small + quaint & just what a movie would portray Alaska to be.  We were eating lunch at the Roadhouse which is a room + board for the hikers, & we got to overhear a group of men talk about their adventures on the mountain.  One said, "the melted snow tasted like pasta soup." I made a goal right then + there that someday, I will climb Mt. Denali.  Even if that someday is in my dreams.  What an adventure that would be.

The town had a ton of cute little shops to look at + we stopped for a salted pickle.  Yum!
We then headed to Denali State Park & got some awesome view of Mt. Denali.  So gorgeous + incredible.  The day was awesome but hard for the girls since most of the day was spent in a car traveling.  I'm really glad we did it though because I would have regretted not going to Denali + Talkeetna.
