Glacier Cruise

Hands down one of my very favorite things I have done in Alaska.
We were able to go on a glacier cruise + it was breathtaking scene after breathtaking scene.
The wildlife was unreal!  We saw a ton of humpback whales + one whale even slapped it's tail for us for about 10 minutes!  We saw a pod of orca's, lots of sea otters, a cliff side full of sea lions, some harbor seals, and a TON of puffins.  Puffins are officially my new favorite little animal.  They eat so much that they have the hardest time flying out of the water.  It's so cute!  The glacier was unlike anything I have ever experienced before.  My pictures do NOT capture the brilliant blue that it was.  The sound of the ice calving was defining.  The captain drove us through the ice water & it sounded like rice krispy's.

Penny + I got motion sick & Penny ended up throwing up.  London was so dang sleep deprived.  She didn't want to go outside + had a major breakdown.  All in all though, the girls did pretty good for being on a small boat all day long.  I was able to sneak away without the kids (steve watched them) with Heidi for a bit & we just sat on the back of the boat & took it all in.  We were out there alone so it was a good time to just reflect + enjoy the scenery.

We stopped at Fox Island & had dinner there.  Crab legs, salmon, + prime rib!  YUM!
